Local charity, Exeter Community Initiatives (ECI), is seeking a new Treasurer.
The current Treasurer is standing down at the end of March and the charity is looking for a replacement to take up the voluntary role.
ECI, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this summer, helps people facing poverty and inequality to get their lives back on track by involving them in community projects to improve their mental, emotional and physical wellbeing, increase their sense of belonging and provide skills to help them succeed in life.
The Treasurer is responsible for ECI’s overall financial management and supports and liaises with the Chief Executive, Finance Manager and other staff and committee members with financial responsibilities.
Part of the role is to attend meetings of the charity’s governing body, and collectively, with all trustees, provide strategic direction, ensure compliance with the regulatory framework for charities and companies and exercise sound governance and financial management.
Katie Holland, Chief Executive at Exeter Community Initiatives, said: “ECI celebrates its 30th anniversary this summer so it’s a great time to join our amazing charity which helps makes a real difference to people’s lives. Our ideal candidate would be someone who’s got experience of financial management at a senior level within an organisation. The ability to communicate financial information clearly and effectively to those who are not financially literate would also be a real advantage, as would previous experience of working with committees.”
The successful appointee would be required to give an average minimum of about one half day per month in addition to routine trustee responsibilities and commitments.
