Our team of volunteers are given training & support to develop their skills and are then able to help run our group workshops and/or are carefully matched with individual clients for 1-1 weekly coaching sessions to help our clients plan and take action towards personal goals relating to workshop themes, for up to 6 months.
Workbooks and other resources from the workshops are used to help clients continue their journey and volunteers are trained to support their use.
The volunteer roles are interesting and rewarding for people who enjoy meeting others and helping them to make lasting changes. No particular experience is necessary, but good listening skills are essential, together with a sense of humour and an open mind.
This role would be excellent experience for someone who is looking to pursue a career in support work, social work, mental health or adult learning fields, and ideal for those with such experience already, to ‘keep their hand in’.
How do I volunteer?
We recruit throughout the year, but volunteer coaches must undertake the initial training, which is held approximately three times a year, prior to being able to work with clients. It is also subject to satisfactory references and an Enhanced DBS check (Adult Workforce). The induction course serves as a ‘trial period’ for both parties so that we can ensure that the role is right for you.
