From 1st April 2018 the Children’s Centres at Chestnut and Flying Start will be managed by Action for Children rather than Exeter Community Initiatives.
Action for Children will now manage all the Children’s Centres across Devon. Although this means a change from ECI, you will still see the same staff at Chestnut and Flying Start as you do now. There will be some changes to services. This will include extending the age range from conception to 8 years, with a greater focus on early support when children and families need it. The Children’s Centres will continue to deliver evidence-based programmes, such as ‘Incredible Years’ and ‘Here’s Looking at You Baby’, and continue to provide 1-to-1 family support. Some groups and activities, such as Stay and Plays, will change over the next few months but staff will talk to you if this affects your group.
